3. Who are the N3 Toll Concession Ltd
A single purpose Private Sector Company responsible for designing, constructing, financing, operating and maintaining the section of the N3 which extends from Heidelberg in Gauteng to Cedara in Pietermaritzburg.

9. What is ETC?
ETC is an acronym for Electronic Toll Collection.
The collection is facilitated through an electronic transmitter mounted on the windscreen of a motor vehicle
This transmitter communicates with a receiver at the toll plaza
If the communication is successful, the boom will open and the vehicle may proceed through the toll plaza without stopping
The toll fees are charged to the account to which the transmitter is linked.

c. Sms messaging is being implemented and will be available to subscribers of the service.

11. Where can I access Weather Information for the N3 Toll Route?
Weather SA has introduced a free and innovative forecast service catering for the KwaZulu Portion of the N3 Toll Route from Van Reenens Pass to Cedara. The service is updated 3 times a day.

12. Is N3TC a law enforcement agency?
NO, Responsibility for day to day law enforcement lies with the various Road Traffic Inspectorates along the N3 Toll Route.

The truck stop facilities include showers and restaurants.
