N3 TOLL ROUTE SOUTH BETWEEN HOWICK AND CEDARA NOW OPEN TO TRAFFIC FOLLOWING EARLIER TRUCK CRASH

URGENT:            N3 TOLL ROUTE TRAFFIC UPDATE

N3 TOLL ROUTE SOUTH BETWEEN HOWICK AND CEDARA NOW OPEN TO TRAFFIC FOLLOWING EARLIER TRUCK CRASH

DATE:                  FRIDAY, 17 JANUARY 2020 @ 12H45

All Durban-bound lanes have been re-opened, but continue to expect slow moving traffic and delays while the extensive traffic backlog dissipates.

The scene of an earlier truck crash and fire on N3 Toll Route between Howick and Cedara has been cleared and all lanes are now open to traffic. The incident, however, caused an extensive backlog of heavy vehicle traffic, which was stacked on the scene. “It is expected that this back up will take some hours to clear, and will continue to affect the normal flow of traffic,” warns Con Roux, commercial manager of N3 Toll Concession.

“We appeal to road users to remain cautious and patient. Thank you to all emergency services who have been working tirelessly since early this morning to clear the scene,” ends Roux.

N3 traffic information and status updates are available via N3TC’s 24-hour helpline: 0800 63 4357 or by following updates on Twitter: @N3Route.
